For the longest time, I really wanted to make a movie. When I started Computer Animation at Sheridan, I was incredibly excited for the little shorts of 3D I would eventually create. Little did I know how immensly complex even a one minute animation can be. When the time came to start building this final project, I was stumped for ideas. I mulled over thoughts that came in my head, and eventually decided on well, I won’t spoil it for you.

Note: For best viewing, watch on Youtube in glorious 720p.

When I started the project, I envisioned a cinematic experience, in which I inevitably delivered here. In retrospect, I could have focussed on my strengths in 3D, which range from modeling to lighting and technical direction. I suppose I tried to make that clear here, however most of the environmental modeling and texturing I created ended being off camera. Such is 3D life. I specifically remember modeling faucets and knobs for the bathtub, but it can’t be seen because there’s a shower curtain.

This video was created using Autodesk Maya 2010, Mudbox, Adobe Photoshop and After Effects.
